Warranty is one of the most misunderstood parts of buying medical equipment. Two suppliers can both say "warranty included" and mean completely different things.

Here's what to check before you sign anything.

What "warranty" usually covers

  • Manufacturing defects
  • Component failure under normal use
  • Faulty workmanship

What it usually doesn't cover

  • Damage from misuse or neglect
  • Water, power surge, or physical damage
  • Consumables (reagents, filters, seals)
  • Damage from unauthorized repairs
  • Normal wear and tear

That's industry standard — but the details matter.

The four questions to ask every supplier

  1. How long is the warranty? Typical is 12 months. Premium brands sometimes offer 24.
  2. What's covered? Parts only? Parts and labour? On-site service included?
  3. What voids it? Most warranties require use of approved consumables and authorized servicing.
  4. How do you file a claim? A phone number? Email? WhatsApp? What's the response time?

If any answer is vague, get it in writing before purchase.

What we do differently

Every product at Nakusha comes with a manufacturer's warranty, and we handle claims directly for you. You don't chase the manufacturer — you message us, we handle it.

For equipment we supply, warranty includes:

  • Component and manufacturing defect coverage
  • On-site diagnostic visits within Kampala
  • Replacement parts from the manufacturer
  • No hidden labour fees during the warranty period

After the warranty ends

We offer ongoing service contracts and pay-per-repair options. Because equipment that's serviced regularly lasts years longer than equipment that isn't.
